Hell is also very big in size and depth. On the day of Judgment Allah, the Exalted, will ask its vacant area, then it will reply in a way that clearly indicates its vast area. Allah, the Exalted, says:
(On that day We will ask Hell, “Are you filled? And it will answer, is there yet more. )
[Holy Quran, Chapter: 50, Verse: 30]

Describing its unimaginable depth, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said, if a big rock is being dropped from any side of Hell, it will not reach its bottom even in seventy years.

It has seven doors. Hell-goers will be divided into seven groups. Each group will be allowed to get in through specified door. Allah, the Exalted, says:
(And verily, Hell is the promised goal for them all. With seven gates leading into it, each gate receiving its allotted share of sinners. )
[Holy Quran, Chapter: 15, verses: 43, 44]

It is impossible to think of the horrible fire of Hell in accordance with the fire of this world. Fire of Hell is unimaginable, hottest, and painful. Comparing both fires, our Prophets (Peace be upon him) said, “This fire of yours which is being lit by the children of Adam is seventy times less hot than of Hellfire…….”

Giving more detail about it, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said, “Fire of Hell had been lit for thousand years, so its color turned to red. Then it had been lit for another thousand years, so it turned to white. Then it had been lit for another thousand years so it turned to black. Therefore, now its color is black.”
[Tirmizi: Imam Muhammad Bin Isa Tirmizi, Vol: 2, Page: 177]

Of course, its power of causing pain and distress is also more than the fire of this world. Citing its horrible glimpse, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said, “The least punishment that will be given on the Day of Judgment amongst Hell-goers, will be a person under whose arch of the feet two smoldering embers will be placed, because of which his brain will boil just like Al-Mirjal ( copper vessel) or a qum-qum (narow-necked vessel) is boiling with water.”

This is the effect of the least punishment due to the Hell fire. With it, one can think for a moment, what if it will touch the other parts of the body. According to the Holy Quran, foreheads, backs, and sides of the bodies of Hell-goers will be heated up by fire.
(On the day, they shall be heated in the fire of Hell and their foreheads, their sides, and their backs branded there with. )
[Holy Quran, Chapter: 9, Verse: 35]

On the basis of the mistakes done by the Hell-goers, fire will curb some of them till their knees, and some to their backs, and others to their necks.

Maintaining maximum effect of fire to them their skins will be changed intermittently with new ones
( Every time their skins are burnt off, we shall replace them with new skins, so that they may taste suffering. )
[Holy Quran, Chapter: 4, Verse: 56]

In the Hell, worst of all foods and dirty drinks will be served to them.
As a food, they will be provided “Dharee” a plant having prickles.

Allah, the Exalted, says:
( No foods will there be for them but a bitter Dharee, which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. )
[Holy Quran, Chapter: 88, Verses: ]

As they start eating it, they will feel like choking. So, they will ask some drinks to push it in. Then they will be given hot water that will burn off their faces and cut off the guts and organs inside their bellies.

They will also be served zaqqum as a food. Allah, the Exalted, says
(Verily, the tree of Zaqqum [Cactus] will be the food of the sinful. Like molten lead will it boil in the belly. Like the boiling of burning despair. )
[Holy Quran, Chapter: 44, Verses: 43-46]

There will be no sweet drinks or cold water available for them. But, in fact they will be presented with hot and bitter drinks
(Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. Except boiling water and burning pus of sinners.)
[Holy Quran, Chapter: 78, Verses: 24, 25]

When they ask something to drink, they will be provided with boiling water that may burn their faces
( And if they ask water, then they will be served water, which is like molten lead that will burn the faces. What a bad drink it is and how uncomfortable place to stay in. )
[Holy Quran, Chapter: 18, Verse: 29]

That boiling water may cut their entrails too.
(and they shall be given to drink boiling water, so that it cuts up their entrails into pieces)
[Holy Quran, Chapter: 47, Verse: 15]
