Prophets in The Quran

PROPHET ADAM

(Peace be upon him)

There was a time when this Earth was without any human life. Allah, The Exalted, decided to inhabit it with mankind. He created a man out of clay and called him Prophet Adam (Peace be upon him).
Allah, The Exalted, had created many other things before Prophet Adam (Peace be upon him). Among them there were jinns and angels. Allah, The Exalted, said to the angels after creating Prophet Adam (Peace be upon him)
[I am about to place a vice-gerent on the earth, they said will you place those whom will spread disorder there and shed blood? And we praise you commending you and sanctify you. Allah told them, I know what you know not. ]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:2, Verse :30)

Allah , The Exalted, taught Prophet Adam (Peace be upon him) the names of everything and asked the angels to
truthful. Tell the names of these if you are
[ They said, sanctity to you, we know nothing, but what you taught us, no doubt, you alone are the knower and wise. ]
Then Allah,The Exalted, said to Prophet Adam (Peace be upon him).
[O’ Adam tell them the names of everything, when Adam had informed them of the names of all. He told, had I not told you that I know all the hidden things of heavens and earth, and I know whatever you disclose and whatever you hide.
(Holy Quran, Chapter:2, Verse:33)

Here it should be very clear that Allah, The Exalted, taught Prophet Adam (Peace be upon him) the names of everything in different languages, so all languages are from Allah , The Exalted
Then Allah , The Exalted, said to the angels:
[Prostrate before Adam, then all prostrated but Iblis. He refused and boasted and became a disbeliever.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:2, Verse: 34)

Then Allah , The Exalted, said to Iblis:
[O Iblis, what happened to you that you did aloof from the prostration? He said, It is not fitting to me that you made from the ringing clay which was of the black smelling mud. Allah told him to get out of paradise and there is a curse upon him till the Day of Judgment.
He said, O my Lord, give me time till the day when they are being raised. Allah said you are among those who are given time till the known day. He said O my lord, I swear of that you led my astray, I will deceive them in the earth, and certainly I will mislead all of them except those of them who are your selected bondmen.]

Holy Quran, Chapter:15, Verse:32-30))
Allah , The Exalted, created Eve, the wife of Adam (Peace be upon him) then said to Prophet Adam (Peace be upon him):
[O’ Adam dwell you and your wife in paradise and eat freely there whatever you want, but do not approach this tree lest you will become of the transgressors.]
((Holy Quran, Chapter:2, Verse:35

Thus, Prophet Adam and Eve (Peace be upon him) began their comfortable life in Paradise. But Shaitan was unhappy to see them in Paradise and planned to bring them out of Heaven.

[Then Shaitan made them slip and got them out from the place where they lived and We said get down, one of you is the enemy of the other and you have to stay on earth and to make use of it for a time. ]
((Holy Quran, Chapter:2, Verse:36
According to the Holy Quran, Shaitan made both Prophet Adam and Eve (Peace be upon them) slip from the Divine order. Therefore Eve is not responsible for Prophet Adam (Peace be upon him) being sent out of Heaven, as some others believe.

As the commentary books indicate, they were sent down to Earth and placed far from each other in different countries. They felt very sorry and asked
Allah , The Exalted ,his forgiveness
[Then Adam learned certain words from his Lord, so Allah accepted his penitence. Surely, He is alone most Relenting, Merciful.]
Holy Quran, Chapter:2, Verse:37))
Thus Prophet Adam (Peace be upon him) was the first man. That is why he is known as the father of all human beings.

PROPHET NOOH (Noah)

(Peace be upon him)

The first Prophet of Allah, The Almighty, Prophet Adam (Peace be upon him), came to earth with his wife Eve (Peace be upon her). After some times they were reunited and lived together for many years. Many children were born to them. As the children grew older, they got married and the population began to increase. After some time people began migrating to different places on earth.
The children of Prophet Adam (Peace be upon him) remembered the teachings and messages of their father. But their children forgot this message and went astray. They started worshipping idols, which they made with their own hands. Then, The Almighty, sent to them a righteous Prophet, Nooh (Peace be upon him) as his messenger to bring the people back to the right path.
Allah, The Almighty, said:
[Undoubtedly, we sent towards his people to warn them before a painful torment was to come to them.]
((Holy Quran, Chapter:71, Verse:1

Allah, The Almighty, also said:
[And undoubtedly, we sent Nooh towards his people and he said O my people, worship Allah, there is no God besides He. Do you not fear?]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:23, Verse:23)
But the people of Prophet Nooh (Peace be upon him) refused to accept his divine message and said:

[He is a mad man’ and [they] scolded him.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:54, Verse:9)

Prophet Nooh (Peace be upon him) made a tireless effort to bring his people to the righteous path, the path of Allah, The Almighty, but they refused to even listen to him. He (Peace be upon him) reminded them again:
[I deliver to you the messages of my Lord, wishing you good and I know that from Allah which you do not]
((Holy Quran, Chapter:7, Verse:62

At last Prophet (Peace be upon him) said to his Lord:
[He submitted, O my Lord, I have called my people night and day. But my calling has only increased them in fleeing away from the path of Allah. ]
Holy Quran, Chapter:71, Verse:5,6))

Then Allah, The Almighty said:
[And it was revealed to Nooh, none of your people will become Muslim but those who now believe, grieve
not then at what they do. And build the ark before us and with our command and address Me not concerning the unjust, they shall necessarily be drowned. And Nooh builds the ark and whenever the chief of his people passed by him, they laughed at him………]

((Holy Quran, Chapter:11, Verse:36-38

Prophet Nooh (Peace be upon him) tolerated all the nonsense of his people and kept on building the ark. When it was made, Allah, The Almighty, ordered him (Peace be upon him) to embark on it:
[Embark in the ark with a pair, male and female, of every kind of animal and members of your family except those against whom the word has already gone forth, and the rest of the Muslims.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:11, Verse:40

Then Prophet Noon (Peace be upon him) accepted this divine order and told them.
[Embark therein; in the name of Allah is it’s moving and it’s berthing, no doubt, my Lord is assuredly forgiving, merciful.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:11, Verse:41)
As we know that a few people only accepted Prophet Nooh (Peace be upon him)’s message and even his son was amongst those who refused to hear him. Prophet Nooh (Peace be upon him) made a last effort to bring his son in the ark by saying:
[Embark with us and be not with non-believers! He (Nooh’s son) said, now I will take refuge of any
mountain. It will save me from the waters.]

(Holy Quran, Chapter:11, Verse:42)

Prophet Nooh (Peace be upon him) said to his son:
[Today there is no protection from the torment of Allah but for him on whom He has mercy on.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:11, Verse:43)
Prophet Nooh (Peace be upon him) was talking with his son, when suddenly a wave came in between the two of them and Allah, The Almighty, gave the order:
[O Earth, swallow your water………]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:11, Verse:44

This flood in reality was a worldwide event. Each and everything on this planet was drowned in the flood water. Later Allah, The Almighty, ordered:
[O Heaven, with hold’, and the water was dried and the affair was accomplished and the ark settled on mountain Judi……..]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:11, Verse:44

All the living creatures on the ark came out and began a noble life on this new earth. Allah, The Almighty, said:

….[O’ Nooh get down from the ark with peace from Us and with blessings on you and on some of the people from those with you…….]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:11, Verse:48)

PROPHET HOOD

(Peace be upon him)

Allah, The Almighty, sent His Messengers to show people the righteous way of worshipping the one and only creator. But as the nature of human beings, they went astray again and started prostrating before idols and pleasing Satan (Shaitan). Then Allah, The Almighty, sent down his Prophet Hood (Peace be upon him) to the people of Aad.
[And to Aad was sent Hood from their brethren. He said, O my people! Worship Allah, you have no God other than He, then do you not fear?]
((Holy Quran, Chapter:7, Verse:65
Allah, The Almighty, has made it clear in the above verse of the Holy Quran that Prophet Hood (Peace be upon him) was sent to his people. He came down to them and ordered them to worship Allah, The Almighty, and advised them to ask forgiveness for their sins.
[And O my people! Beg forgiveness of your Lord, then turn to Him, He will send over you heavy rain and will add strength to your strength, and turn not away your faces as culprits.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:11, Verse:52)
He said to his people another time:
[O my people, I do not ask you for any money for this. My wage is only from Him who created me, have you then no wisdom.]

( (Holy Quran, Chapter:11, Verse:51
But they did not accept his message and said to him:
[O Hood, you have not come to us with any proof, so we are not going to leave our gods just because you said nor are we going to believe what you say.]
Holy Quran, Chapter:11, Verse:53))
Some of his people said to him:
[We find you foolish and we surely think of you as one of the liars.]
( Holy Quran, Chapter:7, Verse:66)

Prophet Hood (Peace be upon him) replied to them:
[O my people, there is no concern of foolishness with me, I am indeed a Messenger from the Lord of the worlds. I deliver to you the message of my Lord and I am your trustworthy well wisher.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:7, Verse:67-68)

Prophet Hood (Peace be upon him) made a tireless effort to bring his people to the righteous path and told them to fear a terrible punishment from Allah, The Almighty, and said:
[Undoubtedly I fear for you the torment of a great day. They said, have you come for this that you may turn us away from our Gods? Bring us that then which you promise, if you are truthful.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:46, Verses:21-22)

When the effort of Prophet Hood (Peace be upon him) did not meet with much success, Allah decided to let them taste the punishment.
[When they saw the torment, like clouds spreading in the sides of the sky coming toward their vallies, they said, this is a cloud which will rain over us. Not so, rather it is that which you sought to hasten, a wind storm wherein is a painful torment. It destroyed everything by the command of its Lord, and by morning they remained as they were not seen but their deserted dwellings.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:46, Verses:24-25
This painful torment continued playing havoc.
[Seven nights and eight days consecutively, then see, those people in its lying down, as though they were trunks of palm-trees lying down.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:69, Verse:7

So Allah, The Almighty, destroyed these very powerful and rich people from their roots. Their habitations, which fell to ruins, can still be seen today. This tribe lived somewhere in the southern part of Saudi Arabia, close to Oman and Yemen.

PROPHET SALEH

(Peace be upon him)

Prophet Saleh (Peace be upon him)was sent by Allah, The Almighty, to the people of Thamod. They had big palatial houses in the mountains, fields full of corn and gardens of dates. But as the people before them, they also forgot the divine message of Allah. When Prophet Saleh (Peace be upon him) tried to show them the righteous path, he called:
[O my people, worship Allah, you have no deity beside Him, He evolved you from the earth and caused you to live therein, then beg forgiveness of Him, then turn to Him.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:11, Verse:61)

They replied to Prophet Saleh (Peace be upon him):
[O Saleh, you looked promising amongst us before, Do you forbid us to worship what our fathers worshipped and verily we are in big doubt regarding that
to which you call us.]

((Holy Quran, Chapter:11, Verse:62

Prophet Saleh (Peace be upon him) had declared himself as a messenger of Allah, The Almighty, in an unambiguous sentence to them, as he said:
[Undoubtedly, I am the trusted messenger of Allah for you, therefore fear Allah and obey me. I ask you no wage for it, my wage is only upon Him who is the Lord of the world.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:26, Verses:143-145
The people denied to obey him and exclaimed:
[ [Shall we follow a man from among ourselves? Then we indeed are misled and mad.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:54, Verse:24

And they said:
[You are indeed a man like us….]
( (Holy Quran, Chpter:26, Verse:154
The people of Thamood refused to listen to him and reiterated their wish in obeying their ancestors and following their practices. Prophet Saleh (Peace be upon him) advised them to give up their elder’s teachings.
[ [Therefore, fear Allah and obey me. And follow not the bidding of those who exceed the limits. Who spread disorder in the earth and do not reform.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:26, Verses:150-152)

Very patiently and calmly Prophet Saleh (Peace be upon him) continued with his divine message, but those who accepted him as a messenger could be counted by hand. The non-believers laughed at him and asked to be shown a miracle.

[Therefore bring any sign, if you are truthful.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:26, Verse:154)

Then Prophet Saleh (Peace be upon him) said:
[O my people! This she-camel of Allah is a sign (miracle) for you. Leave her alone, let her eat in Allah’s earth and touch her not with evil, lest a near torment will reach you. Then they hamstrung her, then Saleh said (to them) enjoy in your houses three days more. This is a promise that will not be falsified.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:11, Verses:64-65)

As Prophet Saleh (Peace be upon him) promised the non-believers, one day the torment of Allah, The Almighty, came down.
[Then the earthquake took them so in the morning they lay prostrate in their homes. Then Saleh turned back his face from them and said, O my people! Undoubtedly, I did deliver to you the message of my Lord and wished you good, but you do not approve the well-wishers.]

( (Holy Quran, Chapter:7, Verses:78-79

PROPHET YUNUS

(Peace be upon him)

Prophet Yunus (peace be upon him) was sent to the people of Nenwa.
[And verily, Yunus is among the messengers.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:37, Verse:139)

Prophet Yunus (peace be upon him) made a tireless effort to show them the divine way, but they refused to listen to him. One day, he angrily left them and traveled along a river.
[And remember zunnon when he departed in anger, he imagined that We would not cause him any distress….]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:21, Verse:87)

Prophet Yunus (peace be upon him) kept moving upto the river and soon got on a boat. When the boat reached the middle of the river, it started to sink because it was too heavy. The people on the boat decided that one of them would have to be thrown off to save the lives of the others.

[When he went away towards a laden boat. And cast lots and was of the pushed ones.]
((Holy Quran, Chapter:37, Verses: 140-141

Thus the prophet Yunus (peace be upon him) was thrown into the water. Allah, The Almighty, ordered a whale to swallow him and keep the Prophet in his stomach without eating him.
[Then a fish swallowed him and he was blaming himself.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:37, Verse:142)

Constantly Prophet Yunus (peace be upon him) made dua for his release and finally Allah, The Almighty, set him free from the big fish.
[…..then he cried out in the darkness, ‘there is none to be worshipped but you, glory is to you, undoubtedly, I did an improper act.’ Then we responded to his call and relieved him from the grief……..]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 21, Verses:87-88)
Allah, The Almighty, ordered the big fish to throw him on the field.
[Then we cast him on a bare place and he was sick. And we caused to grow over him a tree of gourd.] /
(Holy Quran, Chapter:37, Verses:145-146)

Prophet Yunus (peace be upon him) then came to his people and called them to the righteous path. They saw him now with greater respect and accepted his
message.
[And we sent him towards a hundred thousand rather more. And they believed, then we allowed them to enjoy for a time. And they believed, then We allowed them to enjoy for a time.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:37, Verses:147-148)

PROPHET SULAIMAN (Solomon)

(Peace be upon him)

Prophet Sulaiman (Peace be upon him) was the son of Dawood (David) (Peace be upon him)
[And we bestowed to Dawood, Sulaiman. What a fine bondman! Verily, he was most repenting.]
((Holy Quran, Chapter:38, Verse:30
Prophet Sulaiman (Peace be upon him) became the successor of his father.
[And Sulaiman became the successor of Dawood…]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:27, Verse:16)

Prophet Sulaiman (Peace be upon him) asked Allah, The Exalted, for a kingdom, which no other Prophet had been blessed with. So He accepted his wish and gave him a kingdom to rule.
[He said ‘O my Lord! Forgive me and bestow me a kingdom, which may not suit to anyone else after me. Undoubtedly, you are the Granter of big bounties.]
((Holy Quran, Chapter:38, Verse:35
Prophet Sulaiman (Peace be upon him) was also given extra ordinary powers. For example, the wind was ordered to obey his command.
[Then we subjected the wind to him that it ran by his commandment softly, wherever he desired.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:38, Verse:36)
Also, his throne was able to fly in the air and reach any distant place in just seconds.
[And to Sulaiman we subjected the wind, its morning stage was of month journey and its evening stage was of a month journey…….]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:34, Verse:12

In addition, Allah, The Almighty, gave him the ability to understand the languages of birds and all animals.

[And said O people, we have been taught the language of birds, and we have been bestowed of everything….]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:27, Verse:16
Once Prophet Sulaiman (Peace be upon him) was passing with his soldiers through a valley of ants. One of the ants told the others to get out of the way:
[Until when they came to the valley of the ants and said, O ants, enter your houses, lest Sulaiman and his armies may crush you unknowingly.]
((Holy Quran, Chapter:27, Verse:18

Prophet Sulaiman (Peace be upon him), of course, was able to understand the language of the ants. He laughed and ordered his soldiers to stay until the ants entered a safe place.

[There upon he smilingly laughed at her words and said O my Lord, grant me guidance that I may be grateful for your favor which you have bestowed upon me and my parents and that I may do such good works as would please You….]
((Holy Quran, Chapter:27, Verse:19

Prophet Sulaiman (Peace be upon him) was also given an army of jinns, men, and birds.
[And there were gathered for Sulaiman his armies amongst jinns and men and birds, then they were held back.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:27, Verse:17

One day he did not see the Hud Hud (Hoopoe) bird in amongst his soldiers. He waited for a while, then suddenly the hoopoe came flying in and sat before him, informing him of a city named Saba.
[Then the hoopoe did not stay long and came and said, I have seen that which you have not seen and I have brought to you a certain news from the city of Saba. I saw a woman reigning over them and she has got everything and has a great throne. I found her people prostrating before the sun leaving Allah and the devil was adorning their deeds in their eyes and barred them from the straight path so that they do not get the way. ]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:27, Verses:22-24)
Then Prophet Sulaiman (Peace be upon him) decided to send a message inviting her and her people to the way of Allah , The Almighty:
[Take my edict and cast it to them, then moving
aside from them see what answer they return.]

((Holy Quran, Chapter:27, Verse:28

When the queen of Saba received this letter, she called her chiefs to look into the matter at hand.
[The woman said, O chiefs undoubtedly there has been cast a noble letter towards me. Undoubtedly, it is from Sulaiman and it is by the name of Allah, the most Affectionate, the Merciful.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:27, Verses:29-30)

She went on passing to them the message of the letter as saying:
[Do not be arrogant against me and come to me submitting. She said O my chiefs, advice me in this matter, I do not decide any matter firmly until you are present with me. They said, we are men of great strength and of severe fighting skill, but the authority is yours, therefore see what you command. She said, undoubtedly, when the king enters any town, he ruins it and disgraces its honorable inhabitants, and thus they do. I have to send a gift to him, then I shall see what answer the messenger brings back.]
((Holy Quran, Chapter:27, Verses:31-35

When the precious present was brought to the Prophet Sulaiman (Peace be upon him) it made him angry.
[when he ( messenger) came to Sulaiman he said, do you help me with wealth? But that which Allah has given me is better than that which he has given to you133return them, we shall therefore bring that army to them against which they will have no power and we shall necessarily turn them out of the city disgraced in a manner that they will be humbled.]
((Holy Quran, Chapter:27, Verses:36-37

Prophet Sulaiman (Peace be upon him) returned the gift to the Queen of Saba. She realized that he was not a king and decided to visit him in person. When the prophet found out her intention, he wanted to show her the power he enjoyed.
[Sulaiman said O chiefs, which of you may bring her throne to me before they come to me submitting? One big evil jinn said, I will bring it to you that throne before you rise from your council; and undoubtedly, I have full strength for this work, trustworthy. Then one who had knowledge of the book said, I should bring it to you before the wink of an eye. Then when Sulaiman saw the throne set before him, he said, this is by the grace of my Lord………]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 27, Verses:38-40)

Prophet Sulaiman (Peace be upon him) directed his army to change the shape of the throne.
[Sulaiman ordered, make the throne of the woman strange before her by changing its shape, so that we see whether she recognizes the right path or is one who remains misguided. Then when she came, it was said to her, Is your throne like this? She said, as it is
the same….]

(Holy Quran, Chapter:27, Verses:41-42)

Prophet Sulaiman (Peace be upon him) had a beautiful place. She was asked then to enter it.
[It was said to her, come to the courtyard. But when she saw it, she thought it was deep water and uncovered shanks. Sulaiman said, it is a soft courtyard set with glasses. The woman said, O my Lord, I have wronged my soul and now I submit with Sulaiman before Allah who is the lord of the entire world.]
Holy Quran, Chapter: 27, Verse:44))

PROPHET DAWOOD (David)

(Peace be upon him)

Once an army of enemies came to attack the people of Prophet Dawood (Peace be upon him). A strong man named Jaloot was the chief of that army. Everyone had a great fear for him and no one dared to face him. During the war, they asked help from Allah, The Almighty.
[When they came across Jaloot and his armies, they submitted ‘ O our Lord pour forth stead fastness upon us and make our steps firm, and help us against disbelieving people.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 2, Verse:250)
Allah, The Almighty, helped them in rooting out the enemy. Prophet Dawood (Peace be upon him) killed the mighty Jaloot using the power and skill Allah, The Almighty, gave him.
[Then they routed them by the command of Allah and Dawood slew Jaloot and Allah gave him a kingdom
and wisdom and taught him what he pleased…….]

( Holy Quran, Chapter: 2, Verse:251)
Allah, The Almighty, made him a vicegerent on the earth.
[O Dawood, undoubtedly we have made you a vicegerent on the earth, therefore order between mankind with truth, and do not follow desire, otherwise it would cause you to go astray from the path of Allah. Verily, those who go astray from the path of Allah, there is for them a severe torment, for that they have forgotten the day of reckoning.]
Holy Quran, Chapter: 38, Verse:26))

Prophet Dawood (Peace be upon him) was a very just ruler. The people came to him to settle their quarrels and all other problems. One day, a sheep went wondering on someone else’s field and ate up all the crops. The owners of the field and sheep came to the prophet Dawood (Peace be upon him). He decided that the sheep should be given to the owner of the field, but the prophet’s son, Sulaiman (Peace be upon him), opposed this decision. He advised that the sheep should be handed over to the owner of the field, and the field to the sheep’s owner. Thus, let the field’s owner enjoy the milk of the sheep until the crops grew back to the original size by the sheep’s owner. Prophet Dawood (Peace be upon him) appreciated this idea. Allah, The Almighty, said:
[And remember Dawood and Sulaiman, when they gave decision regarding ther field into which the sheep of certain people strayed therein by night and we were present at the time of their judgement. We
witnessed their judgement. We inspired Sulaiman the understanding of the matter, and bestowed to both of them judgement and knowledge…….]

((Holy Quran, Chapter:21, Verse:78

Allah, The Almighty, directed mountains and birds to glorify Him with Dawood (Peace be upon him)
[…….and remember our bondman Dawood, the man of strength, undoubtedly he is a great peniten. Undoubtedly we have subjected mountains that they with him glorify Allah at evening and sunrise. And the birds Assembled, all were obedient.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 38, Verses:17-19

Allah ,The Almighty, has given His book, Zaboor, to Prophet Dawood (Peace be upon him).)
[And undoubtedly, we preferred some Prophets over the others and gave to Dawood a scripture ‘Zaboor’. ]

(Holy Quran, Chapter:17, Verse:55)

PROPHET SHUAIB

(Peace be upon him)

Prophet Shuaib (Peace be upon him) was a, messenger of Allah, The Almighty
[When Shuaib said to them, do you not fear? Undoubtedly, I am a trusted messenger of Allah for
you. ]

(Holy Quran, Chapter: 26, Verses:177-178)

The Prophet Shuaib (Peace be upon him) was sent to the people of Madyan to bring them to the righteous way of living in this world.
[And to Madyan we sent their compatriot Shuaib, then he said, ‘ O my people, worship Allah and hope for the last day and do not spread mischief on
the land.]

((Holy Quran, Chapter:29, Verse:36

The people of Madyan were merchants and wanted to accumulate as much money as they could. So cheating was very common among them as a way of earning money. Prophet Shuaib (Peace be upon him) commanded them to stop this practice.

[And towards Madyan Shuaib, one of their own brethren. He said, O my people, worship Allah, there is no deity besides him. And diminish not the measure and the weight. No doubt, I see you prosper, but I fear for you the torment of encircling day. And O my people! Fill up the measures and weights with justice and do not give the people their things in lesser amounts and do not roam the earth spreading mischief.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:11, Verses:84-85

But they refused to obey the prophet and said:
[O’ Shuaib, do your prayers bid you that we should abandon the gods of our fathers or that we should stop doing what we like with our property? As if You are the only wise and upright.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:11, Verse:87

Prophet Shuaib (Peace be upon him) made an effort to make them understand by saying:

[O my people, tell me fairly if I am on clear proof from my Lord, He gave me good provisions from Himself? And I do not desire that I myself begin to do that which I forbid you to do. I only desire to reform as far as I can. And my success can only come from Allah . I relied on Him and I turn towards Him only. And ‘O my people ! let not your opposition to me make you to suffer a fate similar to that of the people of Nooh or of Hud or of Saleh. And the people of Lut are not far away from you.]

(Holy Quran, Chapter:11, Verses:88-89)
And he adviced his people to feel very sorry for what they did and ask Allah’s forgiveness.
[ And beg forgiveness fo Allah, then turn towards Him. No doubt, my Lord is Merciful, Loving.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:11, Verses:90)

The people of Madyan totally ignored the advise of Prophet Shuaib (Peace be upon him) and said:
[O Shuaib, we do not understand most of your talkings and no doubt we see you weak among us. And if it were not for your tribe, we would have stoned you. And there is no respect for you in our eyes.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:11, Verse:91
Prophet Shuaib (Peace be upon him) replied:
[He said, O my people! Is the pressure of my tribe over you more than that of Allah? And you have cast Him behind your back. No doubt whatever you do is under the control of my Lord.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:11, Verse:92
Prophet Shuaib (Peace be upon him) wanted to bring them to the righteous path, but they did not listen to him seriously.
[You are being bewitched! You are not but a man like us and undoubtedly we consider you a liar
Therefore, have a fragment of the sky fall upon us if you are truthful.]

(Holy Quran, Chapter: 26, Verses: 185-187)
At last Allah’s, The Almighty, punishment came to
them. It was a horrible noise that caused them to die, but Allah, The Almighty, saved the Prophet Shuaib (Peace be upon him) and his followers.

[And when my command came, we saved Shuaib and the Muslims with him by showing our mercy and the roaring noise overtook the unjust. They remained lying on their knees in their homes in the morning.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:11, Verse:94)

So the rich merchants and traders were not saved by their large amounts of money which they had accumulated by cheating the people.

PROPHET ZAKARIA

(Peace be upon him)

Prophet Zakaria (peace be upon him) had no children. He wanted to have a son. One day Maryam (May Allah be pleased with her) was given under the guardianship of Prophet Zakaria (peace be upon him), her uncle. He went to her prayer place and found a delicious fruit that was out seasoned.
[…….Whenever Zakaria went to her place of prayer, he found new provisions with her. He said O Maryam (Mary)! Where did this come to you? She said it was from Allah, no doubt Allah gives whomsoever He pleases without measure.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:3, Verse:3)

Prophet Zakaria (peace be upon him) thought that if she could get out-seasoned fruit then, why not I could get a child. Being an old man, it would be like getting an out seasoned fruit. So, he prayed to Allah
The Almighty, at the prayer place of Maryam (May Allah be pleased with her:)

[O my Lord, my bones are weakened and the flame of oldness appears from my head and O my Lord, I never remained unsuccessful after calling you. And I fear my relations after me, and my wife is barren. Then bestow from yourself upon me any one who may take over my work. He should be my heir and be the heir of my children of Yaqob. O my Lord! Make him one whom you are well-pleased.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:19, Verses:4-6
As Prophet Zakaria (peace be upon him) prayed, an angel came down and informed him:
[Then the angels called him and he was offering prayer standing at the place of worship, no doubt Allah gives you glad tidings of Yahya was confirm a word from Allah, a chief and prophet amongst our righteous.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 3, Verse:39
Then Prophet Zakaria (peace be upon him) said:
[O my Lord! From where shall I have a son, for I am old and my wife is barren. Said, Allah does whatever he pleases. ]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:3, Verse:40

The angel assured him this was from Allah so the Prophet Zakaria ( Peace be upon him) asked for a sign.
[Submitted he, O my Lord! Give me a sign.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 3, Verse:41
Allah , The Almighty, said as a sign he was going to have a son, he could not speak to anyone for three days.

[Said, Your sign is that you shall not speak to people for three days by words, but only with signals. And remember your Lord much and praise Him near sunset and dawn.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:3, Verse:41

He followed the command of Allah, The Almighty, and was blessed with a son named Yahya whom He, The Almighty, made His messenger.
[O Yahya (John) hold fast the book. And we blessed him with prophethood in his childhood.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:19, Verse:12)

Prophet Yahya (peace be upon him) was well behaved with his parents and a pious servant of Allah, The Almighty.
[And (he) was well behaved towards his parents and was not arrogant nor disobedient.]
((Holy Quran, Chapter:19, Verse:14

So Allah, The Almighty, bestowed him with His blessings.
[And peace is on him the day he was born and the day he will die and when he will be raised alive.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:19, Verse:15)

PROPHET LOOT(Lut)

(Peace be upon him)

Prophet Loot (Peace be upon him) was a messenger of Allah, The Almighty.
[And verily Loot is among our Messengers.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:37, Verse:133

Allah, The Almighty, bestowed upon him many powers and skills.
[And to Loot we gave power and knowledge…………….]
((Holy Quran, Chapter: 21, Verse:74
Prophet Loot (Peace be upon him) lived among very evil and disobedient people. The land where this wicked nation lived was near Jordan and its capital, Sithom (Sodom), was situated somewhere near the Dead Sea. They were blessed with big, palatial buildings and beautiful gardens. They had a good time to enjoy with the utmost comfort which was provided to them by Allah, The Exalted.
Ziaul Quran: Peer karam Shah, part:2, page:724)
Date:1995, Edition:No, Press:Takhleeq Markaz

Prophet Loot (Peace be upon him) tried his best to stop the people from doing horrific deeds and asked them to follow the path of piety and goodness.
[Remember! When their compatriot Loot said to them, do you not fear? Undoubtedly I am a trusted messenger of Allah for you. Therefore fear Allah and obey me. I ask no reward for it from you, my reward is only upon Allah, who is the Lord of the worlds.]
( Holy Quran, Chapter:26, Verses:161-164)

They had no fear of Allah, The Almighty, so they practiced forbidden human ways to please their desires.
[And We sent Loot, when he said to his people, do you commit that indecency which was not committed by any one in the world before you? You rather approach men with lust instead of women, on the contrary you people have crossed the limit. ]
((Holy Quran, Chapter: 7, Verses:80-81
They did not listen to the advise of the Prophet Loot (Peace be upon him), but instead laughed at him.
[And there was no answer of his people but they said, turn them out of your town, these people aspire to be pure. ]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:7, Verse:82
Prophet Loot (Peace be upon him) made a tireless effort to prevent them from committing this great sin
and warned them of a terrible punishment of Allah, The Almighty. But they replied:
[……..Then his people’s answer was nothing, but they said, bring upon us the torment of Allah if you are truthful.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:29, Verse:29)

One day some angels came down to the Prophet Loot (Peace be upon him).
[When the messengers (Angels) came to the house of Loot, he said, verily you are a group of strangers! They said ‘No’ we have brought to you that which they were doubting in. And we have brought to you the true command and we are surely truthful.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:15, Verses:61-64)
On the commandment of Allah, The Almighty those angels advised the Prophet Loot (Peace be upon him) to leave this place with his family and faithful followers.
[Therefore go away with your family while a portion of the night is left and you follow them. Do not let anyone look back and go straight to where you are commanded to go.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:15, Verse:65)
And the Prophet Loot (Peace be upon him) was ordered to leave behind his wicked wife.
[So We saved him and his family, except his wife, she was of those who remained behind.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:7, Verse:83
So when Prophet Loot (Peace be upon him) and his followers had gotten away to a safe distance, the fateful hour struck. A terrible rain of stones and fire shook the whole town and enveloped it with a thundering noise.

[Then a roaring noice overtook them at sunrise. Then We made the entire town upside down and rained upon them stones of baked clay.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:15, Verses:73-74)

Those who did not accept the message of Prophet Loot (Peace be upon him) were wiped out of existence as if they had never lived on the face of the earth.

PROPHET YUSUF (Joseph)

(Peace be upon him)

Prophet Yaqoob (Peace be upon him) had twelve sons, one of whom was Prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him). He was very handsome and brilliant. His father loved him very much, which unfortunately made his other brothers jealous.
[When they said, surely Yusuf and his brother are dearer to our father than we, and we are a party. No doubt, our father is clearly absorbed in their love.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:12, Verse:8)

One day Prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him) told his father of a dream he had, saying:
[Recall when Yusuf said to his father, O my father, I saw eleven stars and the sun and the moon, I saw them prostrating before me.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:12, Verse:4

Prophet Yaqoob (Peace be upon him) advised
him not to disclose this dream to his brothers.
[He said, O my son; relate not your dream to your brothers, lest they will devise any scheme against you. No doubt, Satan is the clear enemy of man.]
((Holy Quran, Chapter:12, Verse: 5

One day they decided to get rid of their brother Prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him). So they made a plan and said to their father:
[They said, O our father! What happened to you that you do not trust us regarding Yusuf, and we are his well-wishers. Send him forth with us tomorrow that he may eat fruits and play, and no doubt, we shall take every care of him.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:12, Verses:11-12

Prophet Yaqoob (Peace be upon him)replied:
[He said, it will grieve me that you should take him away and I fear that a wolf may eat him while you remain unaware of him. They said, if a wolf were to eat him while we are a party, then we indeed be the
losers.]

( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 12, Verse:13-14

On the request of his children, Prophet Yaqoob (Peace be upon him) gave his permission to them. They took Prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him) away to a deep well and threw him in it.
[Then they took him away and all agreed that he should be put in a dark well.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:12, Verse:15

At night they came back to their father with
Prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him)’s shirt soaked in sheep’s blood and said:
[And at night they came to their father weeping. They said, O our father, we went away racing and left Yusuf near our provisions. Then a wolf ate him and you may not believe us even if we are true. And they brought him his shirt stained with false blood.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:12, Verses:16-18)

A caravan with merchants came and passed by the well. They found Prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him), pulled him out and took him with them to Egypt. There he was sold in the market to a man and his wife who had no children of their own.
[And there came a caravan, they sent their water carrier down the well. He said ‘Hurrah’ what good news, this is a boy and concealed him as a treasure. And Allah knows what they do. And they sold him for a mean price on a counted dirham and had no
inclination in him.]

( (Holy Quran, Chapter:12, Verses:19-20

Prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him) grew up in their home. After some years passed, he was accused of a horrible crime he had not done and was sent to prison. One night the pharaoh of Egypt saw a dream, which caused him much concern.
[And the king (pharaoh of Egypt) said, I saw a dream that seven fat cows were being eaten by seven lean cows and seven green ears of corn and seven others dry. O courtiers! Give an answer to my dream if you know the interpretation!]
((Holy Quran, Chapter:12, Verse:43

But none of the courtiers could explain what this dream meant!
[They said, these are confused dreams and we do not know the interpretation of [these] dreams.]
((Holy Quran, Chapter:12, Verse:44

Then the Pharaoh was informed by someone of Prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him)’s knowledge in the field of interpreting dreams. So he sent for Prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him) who explained:
[He said, you will cultivate for seven continuous years, then whatever you reap, leave it in its ear, except for a little which you may eat. Then after that will come seven hard years, then eat what you had stored before, but a little with you may save. Then thereafter there shall come a year in which people will have rain and in which they will press juice.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:12, Verses: 47-49)

The Pharaoh was very grateful to Prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him) and wanted to appreciate him for his awesome knowledge, so he ordered to bring him.
[The king said, bring him to me that I may choose him specially for myself. Then when he talked to him he said, certainly today, you are a man dignified, trusted with us.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:12, Verse:54)
Prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him) said to him.
[He said, Set me over the store-houses of the land
No doubt I will guard them, as one who knows.]

(Holy Quran, Chapter:12, Verse: 55)

When the famine came and spread over the country, it effected the town of Prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him)’s brother’s as well. So they came to Egypt to buy some food.
[And the brethren of Yusuf came and appeared before him. Yusuf recognized them but they remained unaware of him.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:12, Verse: 58
Prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him) filled their baggage with corn and asked them to bring their stepbrother next time.
[And when he got their baggage ready, he said, bring your stepbrother to me……..]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:12, Verse: 59)

Next time they came to Egypt, they brought along their stepbrother Bin Yamin. Prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him) looked at him and set him alone and disclosed his identity, asking him not to inform his brothers.
Prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him) planned to keep Bin Yamin with him and did so. When the brothers returned to their father without his dearest son, Bin Yamin, he felt very sorrowful and turned a side praying to Allah, The Almighty. Some time later, Prophet Yaqoob (Peace be upon him) ordered his sons to go to Egypt and bring Bin Yamin back. They obeyed him and came before the Prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him) asking for Bin Yamin to be freed. Prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him) said to them, remember what you had done with your brother Yusuf (Peace be upon him) many years ago?

[He said, are you aware what you did with Yusuf and his brother, when you were ignorant.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:12, Verse: 89)

Now they recognized him and felt very ashamed of what they had done years ago. They begged his pardon and he forgave them all.
[He said, there is no reproach today upon you. May Allah forgive you. And He is the Most Merciful.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:12, Verse: 90
His father, Prophet Yaqoob (Peace be upon him) had lost his sight due to crying a lot for his sons. So Prophet yusuf (Peace be upon him) handed his shirt over to his brothers, asking them to cast it on my father’s face in order to be cured and bring the rest of the family with them

[Go with this shirt of mine, put it over the face of my father, he will come to see back. Then come to me togather with all your family.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:12, Verse: 93

They came back to their home and followed the instructions given by his brother Prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him). His father Prophet Yaqoob (Peace be upon him ) indeed came back to see clearly.
[Then when the bearer of the good news came, he cast that shirt over his face, and he forthwith regained
clear sight.]

((Holy Quran, Chapter:12, Verse: 96

Later on, they brought their parents to Prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him).
[Then when all reached Yusuf, he offered a place near him to his father and mother and said ‘enter’ Egypt, if Allah wills, with security.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:12, Verse: 99)

At last they all prostrated before Prophet Yusuf (Peace be upon him).
[And he seated his father and mother on the throne and all fell down prostrating for him, and Yusuf said, O my father, this is the interpretation of my first vision. Verily my Lord has made it come true……]
((Holy Quran, Chapter:12, Verse: 100

PROPHET ILYAS

(Peace be upon him)

Prophet Ilyas (Peace be upon him) belongs to the family of Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him).
[And this was the reasoning about Us, which We gave to Ibrahim against his people, We raise in degrees whom We please. Undoubtedly, your Lord is Wise, Knowing. And We gave him [Prophet Ibrahim] Ishaque and Yaqoob, We showed the path to all of them and showed path to Nuh before them and of his progeny to Dawood and Sulaiman and Ayub and Yusuf and Musa and Haroon and thus We reward those who do good the. And to Zakaria and Yahya and Isa and Ilyas. These are all entitled to be Our near ones.]
((Holy Quran, Chapter: 6, Verses: 83-85

Prophet Ilyas (Peace be upon him) was a messenger of Allah , The Almighty.
[And undoubtedly, Ilyas is among the
Messengers.]

((Holy Quran, Chapter: 37, Verse: 123

Prophet Ilyas (Peace be upon him) was sent to one of the tribes of Banu Israel at Balabak, somewhere in present day Lebanon.
(Ziaul Quran: Peer karam Shah, part:4, page:215)

The people of Balabak forgot the message of Almighty Allah and started worshipping idols. Prophet Ilyas (Peace be upon him) made them understand this practice was wrong.
[When he said to his people, do you not fear? Do you worship Bal and leave the best creator? ]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 37, Verses: 124-125

Prophet Ilyas (Peace be upon him) ordered them to give up this way of worshipping and appealed logically that Allah, The Almighty, alone should be worshipped.
[And leave the best Creator? Allah who is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 37, Verses: 125-126

Prophet Ilyas (Peace be upon him) made every effort to show them the righteous way, the path of their ancestors but they refused to accept his message. At last, Allah, The Almighty, sent down His terrible punishment. And thus they were all wiped out from the earth.
[Then they belied him, so necessarily they will come arrested.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 37, Verse: 127

But Allah , The Almighty, saved his followers.
[But the chosen devotees of Allah. And We left his good name in later generation. Peace be upon Ilyas. Undoubtedly thus We reward those who do good.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 37, Verse: 132

Due to his righteousness Allah, The Almighty, praised Prophet Ilyas ( Peace be upon him).
[And verily Ilyas is among our believing devotees.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 37, Verses: 127-131)

PROPHET AYUB

(Peace be upon him)

Prophet Ayub (Peace be upon him) was Allah, The Almighty’s one of the righteous messengers.
[And we gave him Ishaque and Yaqoob, we showed the path to all of them and showed the path to Nooh before them, and of his progeny, to Dawood and Sulaiman and Ayub and Yusuf and Musa and Haroon, and thus we recompense the righteous.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:6, Verse:84)

Prophet Ayub (Peace be upon him) was a rich man with thousands of sheep, animals, and farmland spreading over thousands of acres. He was blessed with seven sons, seven daughters and a beautiful and obedient wife.
[One day, all his children were invited to his brother’s house. While they were there having a good time, the house collapsed. It happened so suddenly that no one managed to escape and died under the debris of the house. With this tragedy, a loss with his wealth struck Prophet Ayub (Peace be upon him) as all his farmland was destroyed by fire and thousands of animals died as well. Prophet Ayub (Peace be upon him) suffered an unbelievable loss. Later he himself was struck by a disease, causing him to be isolated from society. His very own relatives moved away from him and the villagers decided to send him out of the village. At this crucial time, only his wife looked after him. Historians describe that this condition continued for at least seven years, probably more.]
(Ziaul Quran, part:3, page:180)
But the pious prophet kept remembering his Lord, Allah, The Almighty.
[And remember Ayub, when he called his Lord that distress has touched me and you are the most Merciful of the Merciful.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 21, Verse:83)
Allah, The Almighty, ordered Prophet Ayub (Peace be upon him) to strike his foot against the ground, which would gush out water. He was then told to bathe with that water and drink some as well.
As it was noted, he did as he was told and became
healthy again
[We said, strike your foot with the ground, here is the cool stream for bathing and for drinking. ]
((Holy Quran, Chapter:38, Verse:42

Allah, The Almighty, then gave back to Prophet Ayub (Peace be upon him) all his wealth and children
[And We responded to him and removed the distress that was on him , and We restored his family to him, and doubled their number, as a grace from Ourselves, and as an admonition to the devotees.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 38, Verse:43)

There is a great lesson to learn from the life of Prophet Ayub (Peace be upon him). Prophet Ayub (Peace be upon him)’s example shows how an obedient servant of Allah , The Almighty, should face any distress in his life and how the blessings of Allah, The Almighty, come as a reward of patience.
[Therefore, surely there is ease with hardship. Undoubtedly, there is ease with hardship.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 94, Verses:5-6)
Prophet Ayub (Peace be upon him) set an example of patience all for the sake of Allah,The Almighty. And thus his name has become a symbol of patience in the history of Islam.

PROPHET IBRAHIM (Abraham)

(Peace be upon him)

Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) was a great prophet of Allah, The Exalted.
[And undoubtedly, we sent Nooh and Ibrahim and We placed Prophethood and the Book in their off-spring……..]
(Holy Quran, Chapater:57, Verse:26)

In another place it has been clearly announced.
[And remember Ibrahim in the book, no doubt, he was a truthful (prophet) communicator of unseen news.]
(Holy Quran, Chapater:19, Verse:41)

Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) lived among people who worshipped idols. To show them their illogical belief in the sun, moon, and star as items of worship, he said:
[When the darkness of night came on him, he saw a star said, you consider it as my Lord! But when it set,
said, I do not like those that set. Then he saw the moon shining and said, you think this is my Lord! Then when it set he said, if my Lord would not have guided me, I would also have been of the same who have gone astray. Then when he saw the sun shining he said, you say this is my Lord! This is the biggest of all. But when he saw it set he said, O my people, I quit of all those things which you associate with God.]

(Holy Quran, Chapater:6, Verses:76-78)
Then Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) made it clear that Allah, The Exalted, should be worshipped alone and that he himself does the same.
[I diverted my face towards Him who created the heavens and earth, being of Him only and I am not of the polytheists.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapater:6, Verse:79

Once he went to his uncle Aazar and asked him to give up the way of worshipping idols.
[When he said to his father, O my father, why do you worship that which neither hears nor sees and is not of any use to you. O my father, indeed, there has to me that knowledge which has nota come to you, so follow me; I shall guide you to the straight path. O my father, Do not serve the devil, undoubtedly; the devil is disobedient to the Most Affectionate. O my father, I fear that the torment of the most Affectionate may reach you, then you will become the companion of the devil.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapater:19, Verses: 42-45

His uncle started arguing with him and refused to
accept this divine message.
[He said, do you turn your face from my Gods, O Ibrahim? No doubt, if you would not desist, then I shall stone you, and be away from me for a long time.]
Holy Quran, Chapater:19, Verse:46))

It is human nature that once a man gets stuck in wickedness, it is difficult for him to find a way out of it. The same was the case with the people of Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him). They did not give up their forefather’s ways of worship. However, Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) wanted to show them their idols’ lack of ability to be worshipped practically and set a planning, then said:
[I swear by Allah, I shall devise bad against your idols after you have turned your backs. ]
( (Holy Quran, Chapater:21, Verse: 57
The opportunity did not take very long to come. One of the national festival days came up when everyone went out of the city and left Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) behind. The Prophet slipped into their temple. He found himself in a highly decorated room with various kinds of foods dished out placed before the idols.
[Then they turned away from him and he walked towards their gods secretly and said, do you not eat? What happened to you that you do not speak?]
(Holy Quran, Chapater:37, Verses: 90-92)

He then broke all the idols into pieces, leaving the biggest one untouched and placed the hammer he used
in the arms of this big statue.
[Then he broke all of them into pieces except
the biggest one, that hopefully they may ask it
something.]

((Holy Quran, Chapater:21, Verse:58

When the people returned to their town and went to the temple, they saw the whole temple was a horrible mess and asked:
[They said, who has done this to our gods? Undoubtedly he is unjust.]
(Holy Quran, Chapater:21, Verses:59)

But soon they figured out the culprit of the mess. Some of them remembered that they had heard Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) speaking against their idols

[Some of them said, we have heard a youth called Ibrahim saying bad to them.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapater:21, Verse:60

So they brought Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) and asked him:
[They said, have you done this to our gods O Ibrahim?]
( (Holy Quran, Chapater:21, Verse:62

Instead of saying yes or no, Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) said.
[He said, rather this big one of them has done it. Ask them, if they can speak.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapater:21, Verse:63

At this the idol worshippers felt ashamed and said:
[Then they laid their heads down saying, for you know well that these do not speak.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapater:21, Verse:65

Using this opportunity, Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) argued with them logically.
[He said, why do you worship besides Allah that which neither profits nor hurts you. Fie on you and those deities which you worship besides Allah. Do you have no wisdom?]
(Holy Quran, Chapater:21, Verses: 66-67)
After hearing this, the people became enraged. They decided to throw Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) into a huge fire.
[They said, burn him and help your gods, if you have to do.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapater:21, Verse:68

He would have been burnt very badly if he had not Allah, The Exalted ‘s help with him. Because, it is He, The Exalted, who made the fire cool so that Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) would not be burnt at all.
[We said, O fire! Cool and be safe for Ibrahim. And they desired evil for him, but We made them the worst losers.]
(Holy Quran, Chapater:21, Verses: 69-70)
Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) came out of the fire alive and made a firm decision to leave his people.
[And he said, I am to go to my Lord! Now He shall guide me.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 37, Verse:99)

It is been told that Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) went to Syria making his way through Egypt. He prayed to Allah, The Almighty, asking to be blessed with a son. He, The Exalted, accepted his supplication and gave him a son named Ismael (Peace be upon him)
[My Lord, bestow upon me a righteous son. Then We gave him a glad tiding of a prudent son.]
(Holy Quran, Chapater:37, Verses:100-101)

Later, Allah, The Exalted, commanded him to leave his wife Hajira (May Allah be pleased with her ) and their newborn son Ismael (Peace be upon him) in the barren land of Mecca. He immediately complied with the order and left his wife and son at the place where the Kaaba was later built.
After few years, Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) saw a dream that he was sacrificing his dear son Prophet Ismael (Peace be upon him). The dreams of Prophets are never false and are a guide as to what is to happen. He understood the meaning of this dream and narrated it to his son.
[Then when he became able to work with him, he said, O my son, I have dreamt that I am slaughtering you, now look you, what is your opinion? He said, O my father, do as you are commanded, Allah willing, you will find me patient.]
(Holy Quran, Chapater:37, Verse:102)

The Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) bowed down before the will of Allah, The Exalted, and laid his son Ismael (Peace be upon him) facedown on the earth to be sacrificed.

[Then when they both submitted to My command and the father laid his son down on his forehead.]
((Holy Quran, Chapater:37, Verse:103

By this action, Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) proved his willingness to sacrifice his son for the sake of Allah, The Exalted. Thus, he was kept away from actually slaughtering his son.
[We called to him, O Ibrahim! Undoubtedly you have fulfilled the vision, thus We recompense the righteous. No doubt, it was obviously a trial.]
(Holy Quran, Chapater:37, Verses:104-105)

By doing this, the Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) set a great example for Muslims to follow. And Allah, The Exalted, was so pleased with the actions of His friend that he ordered us all to remember this by sacrificing animals on Eid ul Adha.
Later Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) and Prophet Ismael (Peace be upon him) built the Ka’aba in Mecca and they both prayed:
[And when Ibrahim was raising the foundation of this house and Ismael (too) prayed, O our Lord! Accept from us, undoubtedly you alone hear and know. O our Lord, make us submissive to you and our offspring a nation submissive to you and tell us our ways of worship and turn to us with your mercy. Surely You alone are most Relenting and Merciful.]

( (Holy Quran, Chapater:2, Verses:127-128

PROPHET MUSA(Moses)

(Peace be upon him)

In Egypt reigned an evil Pharaoh (Firaoon), who ordered to kill all the boys of Banu Israel. The Holy Quran indicates this cruel reality practiced by him.
[And recall, when We delivered you from the pharaoh’s people that afflicted you from the grievous torment, slaughtering your sons and keeping your daughters alive and in this work there was a great trial or great reward from your Lord.]
((Holy Quran, Chapter: 2, Verse: 49
At this dangerous time, Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) was born. Allah, The Almighty, sent a Messenger to his mother instructing her to put the baby Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) in a basket and let it swim up the river.
[And We inspired the mother of Musa, suckle him
when you may have fear for him, then cast him into the river and fear not, nor grieve. Undoubtedly, we shall return him to you and shall make him a messenger.]

( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 28, Verse:7

This basket was picked up by Pharaoh’s family. His wife was kind and advised her husband not to kill this child.
[Then the family of Pharaoh picked him up…… and the wife of Firaoon said, this child is a comfort to me and you, slay him not perhaps he may profit us or we may take him for a son, and they are unaware.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 28, Verses: 8-9)
Pharaoh’s wife began to look for a foster mother to nurse the baby. Allah, The Almighty, has caused Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him)’s very own mother be chosen for it, as the other women of Egypt did not succeed in feeding him.
[And We had already ordained that he refused to suck at first, then she said, shall I point out to you such a household who may bring up this child of yours. And they are his well wishers. Thus We returned him to his mother that his mother might be comforted and not grieve and she might know that the promise of Allah is true, but most of the people do not know.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 28, Verses: 12-13)
Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) grew up until manhood in the Pharaoh’s house. One day he came out to the city and saw two me fighting. One of them was a descendent of the pharaoh’s tribe and the other was from his tribe. Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) persuaded them to stop the fight. During this, he hit the man who was identified as a descendent from Firaoon’s tribe. This hit unfortunately killed him.

[And he entered the city, at a time when the people of the city were unaware in their noon’s nap and found there two men fighting, one was of Musa’s party and the other of his enemies. Then the one who was of his party sought his help against him who was of his enemies. Therefore Musa gave a blow to him and put an end to him. He said, this is the work of evil, undoubtedly, He is an enemy, a clear mis-leader.]
( Holy Quran, Chapter: 28, Verse:15)

Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) was informed that the pharaoh was planning to kill him for what he had done. So he (Peace be upon him) decided to leave Egypt to avoid any possible retaliation from the Pharaoh and headed off to Madyan.
[And a man came running from the far side of the city. He said, O Musa, undoubtedly the chiefs are counseling together to kill you, therefore get away, I am your well-wisher. Then he got out of the city fearing and waiting anxiously as to what happens next. He submitted, O my Lord, save me from the oppressors. And when he diverted his attention towards Madyan, he said, it is near that my Lord may tell me the straight path. ]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 28, Verses:20-22)

On his way to Madyan, he saw a well where some shepherds were watering their sheep. Two women were standing far away with their sheep and were not getting a chance to reach the well. Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) saw them and helped them get water.

[And when he arrived at the watering place in Madyan, there he saw a party of people were watering their animals, at the other side of them, he saw two women that were holding back their animals. Musa said, what is the matter with you? They said, we do not water until all the shepherds take away their animals after watering and our father is very old. So Musa watered the animals of both the women………]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 28, Verses: 23-24)

Both the women returned their house and told their father about how Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) had helped them. The old man sent one of his daughters to call upon him.
[Afterwards one of the two came to him walking bashfully and said, my father invites you that he may give you the wage for watering our animals……..]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 28, Verse:25

Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) came to an old man who was Prophet Shuaib (Peace be upon him). After some time, the old man was so impressed by him that he offered him one of his daughters to take as a wife under the condition that Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) served him for eight or ten years.
[He said, I intend to wed one of my daughters to you on the condition that you serve me for eight years, but if you complete full ten years, then it will be
from your side and I do not desire to put you in hardship. It is near if Allah wills, you would find me one of the righteous. ]

( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 28, Verse: 27

Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) fulfilled his term there and enjoyed a happy life with his family. Some time later when he was traveling with his family through some barren land, suddenly a fire appeared. He said to his family to stay there and went on by himself towards the fire.
[When Musa fulfilled his term and departed with his wife, he observed a fire from the side of the Tur (mountain). He said to his family, stay here, I have observed a fire from the side of Mount Tur, perhaps I may bring you some news from there or I may bring
to you any brand from the fire that you may warm
yourself.]

( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 28, Verse: 29

As he approached the fire, heard a voice:
[Then when he came to the fire, a call was made. O Musa! Verily I am your Lord, then take off your shoes, undoubtedly, you are in the sacred valley Tuwa. And I have chosen you, now listen carefully to what is revealed to you. ]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 20, Verses: 11-13
Then Allah, The Almighty, ordered him to go to Pharaoh of Egypt because he has forgotten the message of Allah, The Almighty, and rebelled again the righteous path.

[Go to pharaoh, he has rebelled.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 20, Verse: 24)

Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) obeyed Him and asked Him to appoint a minister for him.
[He submitted, O my Lord open my breast for me. And make my task easy for me. And loosen the knot of my tongue that they may understand my speech. And make a minister for me from my family, my brother Haroon.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 20, Verses: 25-30)
Allah, The Almighty, accepted his supplication.
[He Said , O Musa, you are granted your request.]
((Holy Quran, Chapter: 20, Verse: 36

Then Allah, The Almighty, ordered both of them to proceed towards Egypt and asked the Pharaoh to set the children of Prophet Yaqub (Pece be upon him) free.
[Go, both of you to Pharaoh, for he has indeed rebelled. Then speak to him mildly; may he be mindful or he may have some fear………….and say ,Surely we are Messenger sent by your Lord, so send forth the children of Israel with us, and do not torture them. No doubt, we have brought to you the sign from your Lard. And peace be upon those who follow the guidance.]
((Holy Quran, Chapter: 20, Verses: 43-47

Following the commandment of Allah, The Almighty, they went to Pharaoh and said:
[No doubt, we have been revealed that the torment is on him who belies and turns his face. ]
((Holy Quran, Chapter: 20, Verse: 48

Pharaoh asked:
[who is the Lord of you both.]
((Holy Quran, Chapter: 20, Verse: 49
Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) answered saying:
[Our Lord is He who gave its proper form to everything, then guided. ]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 20, Verse: 50

But he belied and refused to accept his message.
[Then when Musa brought to them our bright signs, they said, this is nothing but magic fabricated and we did not hear the like among our earlier fathers.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 28, Verse: 36

So to prove that Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him)’s signs were nothing, they called together all the magicians of Egypt to show their performances before the Prophet (Peace be upon him).
[They said, O Musa! Either you cast or we cast first!]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 20, Verse: 65
Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) told them to cast first, and they turned their sticks and ropes to look like snakes.
[Musa said, may you cast, hence their ropes and staffs looked to him as through they were running by the strength of their magic.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 20, Verse: 66
Now Allah, The Almighty, ordered Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) to cast down his stick. When he did that, his stick turned into a snake and swallowed all the snakes of the magicians.

[And cast down that is in your right hand, it will swallow their makings. That which they have made, is the trick of the magicians and the magician does not prosper anywhere he comes.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 20, Verse: 69)

The magicians were impressed:
[Then all magicians were made to prostrate. They said, we believe in Him who is the Lord of Musa and Haroon.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 20, Verse: 70

Pharaoh was surprised with this situation shouted at the magicians angrily.
[Pharaoh said, do you believe in Him before I allow you? Undoubtedly he is your leader who taught you magic. Then I swear necessarily I will cut off your hands and feet of alternate sides and will crucify you upon trunks of the palm-tree and certainly you will know, which of us is more severe and more casting in punishment.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 20, Verse: 71

They replied to him firmly,
[They said, we shall never prefer you against this clear evidence that has come to us, by your creator, do whatever you have to do. You can only do it in the life of this world.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 20, Verse: 72

Later Allah, The Almighty, ordered Prophet Musa
(Peace be upon him) to go with the children of Prophet Yaqoob (Peace be upon him) out of Egypt
[And we revealed to Musa to travel by night with My bondmen, undoubtedly, you are to be followed.]
((Holy Quran, Chapter: 26, Verse: 53

After they departed, pharaoh and his soldiers went after them to bring them back.
[So the people of Pharaoh followed them at sunrise.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 26, Verse: 61

As Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) and his people reached the sea, they saw pharaoh’s soldiers approaching them.
[Then when the two groups saw each other, the people of Musa said, they have overtaken us! ]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 26, Verse: 62

Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) assured them of their safety. And Allah , The Almighty, ordered Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) to strike his stick on the sea for a path for the believers, so they could cross safely.
[Musa said, by no means undoubtedly my Lord is with me, He guided me just now. Then We revealed to Musa, strike the sea with your stick, hence the sea divided, and each separate part became like the huge, firm mass of a big mountain.]
Holy Quran, Chapter: 26, Verses:63-64))

So they walked through the sea as the water was parted and went safely to the other side. Unfortunately Pharaoh and his soldiers also followed them, but while they were on their way to cross the sea, the water came rushing down and drown all the non-believers.

[And We saved Musa and those who were with him
Then We drowned all the others.]

((Holy Quran, Chapter: 26, Verses:66-67

After they safely escaped the Pharaoh, they stayed in the desert for a long time eating divine food provided to them by Allah, The Almighty:
[O children of Israel! No doubt, We saved you from your enemy and We made a covenant with you on the right side of mount Tur and sent down on you Manna and Salwa (divine food).]
( Holy Quran, Chapter: 20, Verse:80)
When they needed water, Allah , The Almighty, ordered Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) to strike his stick on the rocks.
[And when Musa asked for water for his people, We said, Strike this rock with your stick. At once there gushed forth twelve springs from there. Each group knew its drinking place. Eat and drink of what Allah has provided and do not wander on the earth raising mischief.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 2, Verse: 60)

One day Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) received Allah, The Almighty’s order to climb up mount Tur. Before he left, he appointed his brother Prophet Haroon (Peace be upon him) as his vicegerent.
……….[And Musa said to his brother, Haroon, be my vicegerent among my people and do right and do not
follow the way of mischief makers.]

( Holy Quran, Chapter: 7, Verse:142)
Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) climbed up to Mountain Toor and had a conversation with Allah, The Almighty. During this talk, he made an intention to take a look at Almighty Allah.
[And when Musa came to the place appointed by Me and his Lord spoke to him, he submitted, O my Lord! Show me Yoursef that I may look upon you.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 7, Verse:143
Allah, The Almighty, told him that he did not have enough strength to be able to see Him.
[He Said , you shall never see me.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 7, Verse:143
Then Allah, The Almighty, reiterated His blessings upon him, as he was sent as a Messenger to the people of Israel and gave him Tablets as a constitution to be followed by the people. These Tablets are known as Taurat, one of the divine books.
[Allah said, O Musa! I have blessed you from amongst the people with My messengership and an opportunity of conversation with Me. Take then what I have given you and be of the grateful. And we wrote for him on the Tablets of everything an admonition and details of everything. And said, O Musa! Take it with firmness and bid your people to follow the best of it. Soon I shall show you the abode of the disobedient.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 7, Verse:144-145)

When Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) came
down from the mountain to his people, he saw the people worshipping a golden calf and his brother Prophet Haroon (Peace be upon him) about what was happening angrily.
[And when Musa returned to his people full of anger, grief, he said, badly you acted in my place after me? Did you hasten from the commands of your Lord? And he threw down the tablets and began to pull his brother towards him holding the hair of his head. He (Haroon) said, O son of my mother, the people deemed me weak and were about to kill me, so do not make the enemies laugh over me and place me not with the unjust people.]
((Holy Quran, Chapter: 7, Verse:150
Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) turned to his people and asked:
[Then Musa returned full of anger and sorrowful to his people, he said, O my people! Did your Lord not promise you? Did a long time pass on you or did you desire that the anger of your Lord should descend on you, so that you did against my promise. ]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 20, Verse: 86)

His people answered to him justifying their evil-doing hopelessly.
[They said, we did not break your promise by our own will but we were made to carry some load of these people’s ornaments, so we threw them then like wise did the samri cast. Then he brought out for them a calf, a lifeless body lowing, then they said, this is your God and the God of Musa, but Musa forgot.]

[Holy Quran, Chapter: 20, Verses: 87-88]

And now Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him) instructed them that their Lord is only Allah , The Almighty. No one else except Him is able to be worshipped.
[Your God is only Allah beside whom no one else is to be worshipped. His knowledge encompasses everything.]

[Holy Quran, Chapter: 20, Verse:98]

PROPHET ISA (Jesus)

(Peace be upon him)

One day the wife of Imran made a vow to Allah, The Exalted;
[When the wife of Imran said, I make a vow to You for what is in my womb to remain purely in your service. Therefore accept this from me; no doubt, you alone are hearing, knowing.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 3, Verse:35)
A few days later, she gave birth to a baby girl names Maryam. Because she vowed to Allah to submit her child purely to Allah’s service, she was expecting a boy, but was surprised to see a girl. She said to Allah, The Exalted:
[Then when she gave birth to her, she said, O my Lord I have given birth to a female. And Allah knows well whatever she had giver birth to, and that male whom she demanded was not like this female and I have named her Mary [Maryam], and I gave her and her off-spring under your protection from Satan the
rejected.]

(Holy Quran, Chapter: 3, Verse:36)

But she fulfilled her promise to Allah, The Exalted, and He accepted her offering.
[Therefore her Lord accepted her graciously…]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 3, Verse:3

When Maryam was brought to Quds, Allah, The Exalted, had Prophet Zakaria (Peace be upon him) be her guardian.
[And made her to grow in puroty and beauty and gave her under the guardianship of Zakaria…]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 3, Verse:37)

She lived there in Quds and prayed to Allah, The Exalted.
. One day, some angels came to her and said
[And when the angels said, O Mary, verily Allah has chosen you and purified well and today was chosen you from amongst the women of all worlds. O Mary! Stand before your Lord humbly and prostrate for Him and bow down with those who bow down.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 3, Verses: 42-43)

The angels also informed her that she was soon to have a son.
[And remember when the angels said to Mary, O Mary! Allah gives you glad tidings of a word from Him; whose name is Masih, Isa son of Mary, he shall be dignified in the world and the Hereafter and of those nearest Allah. And he shall talk to the people in the cradle and in the ripe age (maturity) and shall be of the righteous.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 3, Verses: 45-46)

But how can I have a son?,” Maryam asked. “I have no husband.
[She said O my Lord! From where I shall have a son, no person has touched me. He said, Allah creates in such a way that He pleases. When He wants to decree anything, all he has to say is ‘Be’ and it is.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 28, Verse: 47

Allah, The Exalted, said he would send him to the children of Israel as a messenger.
[And Allah will teach him the book and wisdom and the Taurat and Injeel. And he shall be a Messenger towards the children of Israel saying this, I have brought to you a sign from your Lord, that I make a form out of clay like a bird, and breathe into it and it becomes a bird by Allah’ permission, And I heal those who born blined and the lepers, and I make the dead alive by the command of Allah, and I declare to you what you eat, and what you store in your houses. Surely in these things there is a great sign for you if you believe.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 3, Verses: 48-49)

When she was about to deliver the baby, she took shelter under a palm-tree. She was very embarrassed with this condition as Allah, The Almighty says:
[Then the pains of child birth brought her to the trunk of a palm-tree. She said, Oh would I have died
before this and had become a thing forgotten, lost.]

(Holy Quran, Chapter: 19, Verse: 23)
An angel assured her of Allah’s blessings and told her to shake the palm-tree to get food and that water had been arranged for her as well.
[Then one called to her from underneath it , grieve not undoubtedly, your Lord has caused to flow a rivulet below you. And shake towards yourself holding the trunk of the palm-tree, fresh and ripe dates will come upon you. Then eat and drink and cool your eyes….]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 19, Verses: 24-26

Allah, The Exalted, knew the circumstances she would have to face when she returned to her people, so He ordered her not to speak and if anyone asked a question about this to just point to the child.
…..[Then if you see any man, then say, I have vowed a fast to the most Affectionate, so I shall not speak to anyone today.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 19, Verse: 26
Later she returned to her family who were very curious about the child and asked her about him.
[Then she brought him to her people taking in her lap. They said, no doubt you have committed a very vile thing. ]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 19, Verse: 27

But she did not answer then and just pointed to the child, as Allah , The Exalted, had commanded her. “How can we ask a child who is still in the cradle?” they exclaimed.
[Then Maryam pointed towards the child, they said, how can we talk to him who is a baby in the
cradle.]

( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 19, Verse: 29

With the blessings of Allah, The Exalted, just then, the child started to speak in a clear voice.
[The baby said, I am indeed a bondman of Allah, He gave me the book and made me the communicator of unseen news (a prophet). And He made me blessed wherever I may be and enjoined on me prayer and poor dues (zakat) as long as I live. And He made me dutiful to my mother and not made me vigorous, unfortunate. So peace be on me the day I was born and the day I die and the day I shall be raised alive.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:19, Verses: 30-33)

Prophet Isa (Peace be upon him) stated clearly that he was a prophet of Allah, The Exalted, and that he was neither the God nor His son. But some people named him god. Allah has falsified this absurd belief:
[Undoubtedly, they have become infidels who said, that Allah is the Masih, son of Maryam…..]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 5, Verse:17

Some people said that Allah is the father of Masih (Peace be upon him). But deniying this wrong-belief Allah, The Exalted, said:
[It is not befitting to Allah that he should take to Himself anyone as a son. Holy is He….]
(Holy Quran, Chapter:19, Verse:35)

And Prophet Isa (Peace be upon him) himself said to
his followers inviting them to accept Allah, The Almighty as the only Lord.
[And Isa said, undoubtedly Allah is my Lord and your Lord, then worship him. This path is straight.]
((Holy Quran, Chapter:19, Verse:36

And he also said:
[And Masih said, O children of Israel! Worship Allah, my lord and your lord undoubtedly, whoever associates anyone with Allah, then He will forbid him paradise and his abode will be hell. And there will be no helper of the unjust.]

(Holy Quran, Chapter: 5, Verse:72)

PROPHET MUMHAMMAD

(Peace be upon him)

Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) was building the Holy Kaaba and his beloved son Prophet Ismael (Peace be upon him) was helping him with this noble task, as stated in the Holy Quran
And when Ibrahim was raising the foundations of this house and Ismail…]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 2, Verse:127

When they have finished with this work, they asked Allah, The Almighty, to send a Prophet towards this land from among themselves.
O our Lord, and send in them a messenger from among themselves, who may recite to them your signs and teach them your book and knowledge and purify them well. Surely, you are alone the predominant, the wise.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 2, Verse:129)
Almost all Muslim scholars agree that this supplication was truly accepted by Almighty Allah and the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) was sent to this holy land.
O people! The messenger has come to you with truth from your Lord, then believe in him for your own benefit…….. ]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 4, Verse:170)
More clearly, the Holy Quran has stated about him,
[Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah…]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 48, Verse:29

Last Messenger:
Allah, The Almighty, has sent down about 124,000 or 224,000 (plus or minus some) Prophets in specific time periods and areas to guide people. Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) came as the last messenger of Allah. The Holy Quran alludes to this special status given to him.
[Muhammad is not the father of any of you, yes he is the messenger of Allah and the last one among all the Prophets and Allah knows all things.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 33, Verse:40
Messenger for Everybody:
All the Prophets who came before him were sent for a specific region and group of people, but the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) was sent down for all people everywhere. His prophethood was not limited to any designated area or set of people. The Holy Quran says while address him:

[And we have sent you as a messenger to all mankind and Allah is a sufficient witness.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 4, Verse:79)
[And O Beloved! We have not sent you but as a messenger for all of mankind……..]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 34, Verse:28)
On these grounds, the prophet himself said to his nation proclaiming:
[O Beloved, Say, O mankind I am a messenger to all of you …………]

( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 7, Verse:158

Announcement of Prophethood:
Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) used to pray in the cave of Hira in Mecca. One day when he was busy in his prayer, an angel appeared in the cave and asked him to read. The Prophet (Peace be upon him) replied, “I am not going to read.” Then the angel hugged him, pressing his chest and asked him to read again, but was given the same reply. The angel pressed him hard and left him asking to read with the name of Allah as mentioned in the Holy Quran.
[Recite with the name of your Lord who created. He made man from the clot of blood. Recite, for your Lord is the most generous. Who taught writing by the pen.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 96, Verses:1- 4)
This time Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) repeated the same verse. This was the first revelation of the Holy Quran which enabled him to announce his prophethood and thus the Islamic movement began.

Islamic Movement:
On receiving the revelation, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) started passing this divine message to his close ones very secretly.
After a longtime, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) saw the angel Gabriel (Peace be upon him) again and as he drew close to him, the angel said:
O the mantled one, stand up, then warn. And magnify your Lord alone. ]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 74, Verses:1- 3)

Now he extended the invitation to the public at large, out in the open. Most of the people refused to listen to him and opposed him strongly. And new Muslims were being tortured, beaten and, persecuted by non-believers.
Isra and Meraj:
In the very critical period of the Islamic movement, Abu Talib, a supporter and uncle of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) passed away. A while after this devastating loss, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) also lost his most loving and caring wife, Hardhat Khadija (May Allah be pleased with her), who was always ready to comfort and support him as much as she could.
In the year following this sorrowful event, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) was invited by Allah, The Almighty, to see his manifesto and signs. Indicating towards this unusual and unique journey, the Holy Quran says:
Holy is He who carried His bondman in the night from the sacred Mosque to the Aqsa Mosque, which We showered blessings upon, in order to show him our signs, no doubt, He is Hearing and Seeing.]
((Holy Quran, Chapter: 17, Verse:1

This was the first phase of this holy scheduled journey, called “Isra”. In the next part, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) was honored to see Allah, The Almighty, and His signs, as he went through the skies and beyond outer space. This second part of this holy journey is called “Meraj”. The Holy Quran says:
[And he was on the highest horizon. Then that splendid sight drew nearer, then he came close well. So there was a distance of two bow-lengths between the splendid sight and the beloved( Prophet ) but rather less than that.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 53, Verses: 7- 9)
Migration to Medina:
As the persecution of the Quraish grew in intensity, the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) was directed by Allah, The Almighty, to migrate to Medina. The Holy Quran indicates to some aspects of this
journey.
[Allah helped him when infidels got them out, second of the two, when both were in the cave, said to his companion, do not worry, no doubt Allah is with us, then Allah sent down his satisfaction on him and helped him with armies which you did not see, and put down the words of infidels. It is the word of Allah alone which is supreme, and Allah is Dominant, Wise.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter:9, Verse: 40
Battles:
The Prophet (Peace be upon him) migrated to Medina and settled there. The situation in Medina was totally different than of Mecca. Muslims could freely call the people to the noble Islamic message and practice it without any restriction. As a result, Islam became the fastest growing religion and the number of Muslims began to increase rapidly.
A strong setting for Islam and Muslims did not let the Meccan’s sit quietly. They started plotting to harm the Muslim community and divert their attention from the Islamic movement. This was the time when Allah, The Almighty, gave the Muslims permission to use their power and strength in order to save their religion, property and their lives.

Battle of Badr:
The Non Muslims in Mecca had highly prepared themselves and marched to Medina to attack and
eradicate the Islamic movement. The Holy Quran mentions this incident:
[No doubt, there has been for you a sign in two groups that encountered among themselves. One group was fighting in the way of Allah and the other disbelievers that saw with their eyes twice of them (the size of the Muslim army)……. ]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 3, Verse:13)
Although the number of Muslims was much less than that of the non-Muslims, Allah, The Almighty, helped them and led them to meet a clear victory over the non-Muslims.
[And verily, Allah did help you at Badr, when you were resource less. So fear Allah; thus perhaps you show your gratitude.]
( (Holy Quran, Chapter: 3, Verse:123

Battle of Ohad:
Meccans could not forget the shameful defeat in the battle of Badr and began to reunite their strengths for revenge against the Muslims.
As the Prophet(Peace be upon him) received news that an army of a good number of enemies was marching towards Medina, he called forth the Muslims and consulted them on this prevailing situation. Later on, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) with an army of seven hundred proceeded towards Mount Ohad. The Holy Quran says:
And remember, O beloved! When you came out
from your house in the morning assigning to the Muslims their positions for battle. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.]
((Holy Quran, Chapter: 3, Verse:121

In this battle, both sides faced each other fiercely but soon the Muslims got the upper hand and forced the Meccans to go back. But in the meantime, an unwilling mistake made by some Muslim warriors, led the Muslim army to suffer a heavy loss of lives.
At the end, the Meccans had to return to Mecca leaving the Muslims and their belongings.

Battle of Ahzab:
In order to bring peace and tranquility to Medina, the Prophet(Peace be upon him) signed on a peace treaty with neighboring Jewish tribes. Unfortunately the Jews of Banu Nudhair violated the treaty’s conditions and plotted to kill the Prophet(Peace be upon him). Therefore, actions had to be taken against them and expelled them away from Medina.
After leaving Medina, Banu Nudhair moved to Khaibar and began to get in contact with enemies of Islam in Mecca and surrounding areas, in order to unite everyone for a combat invasion on Medina. But Allah, The Almighty, informed his Prophet (Peace be upon him) about their planning. The Prophet (Peace be upon him) consulted with his companions to find out a proper way to deal with this situation and decided to dig a wide trench outside of Medina that could possibly be used to
keep them out of Medina. Along with the Prophet (Peace be upon him), his companions worked very hard and finally they finished their project before the arrival of their enemies.
An allied force of enemies came close to Medina and saw this unique war technique. They made several attempts to cross the trench but were unsuccessful. One day Allah, The Almighty’s help came as a strong wind, thunder, and heavy rainstorm that made the enemies flee back as He says:
[O believers! Remember Allah’s favor upon you, when some hosts came against you, then we sent on them strong wind and an army, which you did not see. And Allah sees your doings.]
(Holy Quran, Chapter: 33, Verse: 9)

Conquest of Mecca:
Earlier Muslims in Mecca were forced to leave their city. So they migrated to Medina peacefully and settled there. In Media they got a chance to practice their religion freely.
In the sixth year of Hijrah, the Prophet(Peace be upon him) with his companions intended to perform Umrah and marched towards Mecca. They went with no plans of attacking the Meccans but things changed after they were inhumanly forced to stay away from the Kaaba. After a long dialog between both parties, they signed an agreement. According to the treaty, Muslims were to go back to Medina without performing Umrah.
The Prophet (Peace be upon him) gave them his word that would be accepted by his companions, and they all came back to Medina.
History witnessed that Meccans were the first to break this treaty. Allah, The Almighty, then ordered His Prophet ( Peace be upon him) to disregard that and proceed to Mecca.
Meccans who had given a series of hardships to the Muslims were scared and locked themselves in their homes. But the Prophet (Peace be upon him) declared a general amnesty for the entire community of Mecca. He also went into the Kaaba and purified it of all the idols that were inside. The Holy Quran has said, indicating to this memorable event:
[When the help of Allah and victory come. And you see people interring the religion of Allah in crowds. Then praising Allah, glorify Him and beg His forgiveness. Undoubtedly, He is most Relenting.]
Holy Quran, Chapter: 110, Verses:1-3))
Farewell Hajj:
In the tenth year of Hijrah, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) intended to perform Hajj. As this news spread among Muslims, a group of about 120,000 Muslims also decided to have the opportunity to go with their leader.
