This is one of the strong bases of Islam that must be accepted by its followers because it is to come certainly as Allah, the Exalted, says:
(And no doubt, the Hour is to come certainly, therein is no doubt; yet most people do not believe.)
[Holy Quran, Chapter: 40, Verse: 59]

And this day will come all of a sudden as the Holy Quran discloses
(Only, all of a sudden will it come to you)
[Holy Quran, Chapter: 7, Verse: 187]

However, it will come on its specified timing set up by the Lord. It is not possible for it to be happened before its recorded timing or be delayed a bit.
(And they say, When shall this promise come, if you are truthful. Say, for you is the promise of a day from which neither you can go behind for a single moment nor you can go ahead of it)

Although, its coming has been decided by Allah, the Exalted, but was not disclosed for us at all. At the time of the revelation of the Holy Quran, some people has asked the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) to be pointed out to the exact time of its happening, but they were denied.
(They ask you about the Hour– when will be its appointed time? Say: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord: None but He can reveal as to when it will occur)
[Holy Quran, Chapter: 7, Verse: 187]

The exact timing of its occurrence was not disclosed for us, however, some signs prior to its coming have been clearly explained by the Prophet Muhammed (Peace be upon him). Let’s see some of them here;

1. Shaikh Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) was saying, “These are the signs of the last day, knowledge would be diminished, illiteracy will be increased, illegal contact with women and drinking of alcohol will be practiced at large, and the number of women would be more than the number of men to as a man will take care of fifty women under his supervision.”

2. Narrated Abu Huraira (May Allah be pleased with him) that Allah’s Prophet (Peace be upon him) said, “The hour will not be established till a fire will come out of Hijaz, and it will throw light on the necks of the Camels at Busra.”
   [Bukhari : Imam Muhammed bin, Vol: 3, Page: 734]
3. Shaikh Huzaifa Bin Osaid Ghaffari (May Allah be pleased with him) described that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) saw us talking then asked, “What were you talking about?” We replied, “About the Last Day Explaining this topic, the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) said, “The Last Day will not come until you see the ten signs of it; Smoke, Dajjal (1), Dabba tul ard (2), Rising of sun from west, the descent of the Isa son of Maryam (Peace be upon him), Appearance of Gog and Magog, shrinking of lands in three places; on the east side, on the west, and on the Arabian Island, and the tenth one is the eruption of a fire in Aden which will drive the people to the land of congregation.”
   • The Prophet (Peace be upon him) described “Dajjal” saying, “He would be a young man with twisted curly hair with a left blind eye.

   • Dabba tul ard (Beast) is an animal of four legs, he will have the stick of Prophet Musa Peace be upon him) and have the ring of Prophet Sulaiman (Peace be upon him)

   • The Holy Quran also talks about it saying
     (Holy Quran, Chapter: 27, Verse: 82)
   • And when the world is fulfilled against them, we shall produce from the Earth a beast to speak to them because the people had not believed in our signs)
     Muslim: Imam Muslim, Vol: 7, Page: 769
4. Narrated on the authority of Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said, “The Last Day will not occur until the timing gap will not get very close, so that a year will pass like a month, a month will pass like a week, a week like a day, a day like an hour, and an hour will pass like a flame which gets an end quickly.”

5. Narrated by Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said, “The Last Day will come when there will be no one left on the earth to chant the name of Allah.”
   [Tirmizi: Imam Muhammad Bin Isa, Vol: 1, Page: 834]

These are some signs of the Last Day, which were described depending on the sayings of the Prophet Muhammed (Peace be upon him).)
In addition, Prophet ( peace be upon him) has described the events of ” the Last Day” systematically. Eying on the importance of this topic, we will discuss them in detail in the comming pages.

Authentic sayings of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) support that Imam Mehdi (May Allah be pleased with him) will come before the Last Day. Narrated by Abu Said Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said;
Mehdi belongs to my family, having a wide forehead and a high raised nose. He will fill this earth with peace and justice like it was filled with crime and injustice before.”
[Abu Daud: Imam Abu Daud, Vol: 3, Page: 349]

Imam Mehdi (May Allah be pleased with him) will appear in Mecca near Holy Kaaba in the month of Ramadan. Pious people, while moving around the Kaaba will recognize him. On his asking them to accept him, they will deny, then a voice from unseen origin will be heard, “this is the vicegerent of Allah, Almehdi, so listen to him and obey him.” Therefore, they will accept him as a leader. Later on, he will lead them to Syria.

Amongst the great signs of the Last Day is the emergence of Dajjal, as our Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) informed us that we have read in previous pages. Here, we learn about his doings and way of deceiving the people.
Dajjal would be a young man with twisted curly hair and with a blind eye as the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said, “Dajjal has his one eye blind and in between two of his eyes a word “Kaaf Faa Ra” would be written that will be made visible for Muslims easily.

He will have false Paradise and Hell. He will show them to people in order to deceive them because his Paradise will be in-fact Hell and his Hell will be in-fact Paradise.

One who will believe in him, he will make him enter into his Paradise and one who will deny him, he will throw him into Hell. For that great test, our Prophet (Peace be upon him) advised us to choose his Hell to save ourselves from disaster.
Although, he will promote, disturbances, and injustice in the world, but he will be unable to get in the holy Medina because, according to the Prophet (Peace be upon him): when Dajjal will intend to get into Medina, he will face Angels, who will be guarding Medina from every corner.

Regarding the appearance of Dajjal and his way of spreading unrest amongst people, a detailed saying of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) was recorded by Imam Muslim in his compiled book, which is the best in the topic. “Narrated by Shaikh Nawas Bin Sama’an (May Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said, “…He would appear on the way between Syria and Iraq, and would spread mischief right and left. O’ Slaves of Allah, adhere to the path of truth.” We asked, “O, Prophet of Allah, how long would he stay on the earth?” He said, “Forty days; one day like a year, one day like a month, one day like a week, and the rest of the days would be like your days. ” We inquired, “Would one day’s prayer suffice for the prayers of a day equal to one year?” Thereupon he said, “No, but you must make an estimate of time (and observe prayer accordingly). We said, “Allah’s Messenger, how quickly would he walk upon the earth.” Thereupon he said, “Like a cloud driven by the wind…….”

Dajjal would go to the people and show them his tricks such as causing rain, making someone alive, and other false gimmicks to deceive them. Therefore, one who accepts his teachings, will be thrown in to his false Paradise which is in-fact Hell, and one who would not care of him, will be forced to get in false Hell, which will be in-fact Paradise.

(Peace be upon him)
On the contrary to the claim of Christianity about the Crucifying of Prophet Isa (Peace be upon him), our religion stands for truth and uncovers the historical fact that he was not crucified at all. Holy Quran, denying this false statement set up by Christians, clearly says:
( but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ there in are full of doubts. They have not the least knowledge about it, but merely following a conjecture, and undoubtedly, they slew him not. )
[Holy Quran, Chapter: 4, Verse: 157]

In fact, when they had decided to kill the Prophet Isa (Peace be upon him) and cordoned off the house, he was in with his obedient followers, Prophet Isa (Peace be upon him) asked his followers, “Who would like to be accepted being turned into an appearance that looks like me, so that he would be killed in place of me?” One of his followers nodded his head in agreement. He was then taken out by them and was crucified.

And according the Holy Quran, the Prophet Isa (Peace be upon him) was uplifted towards heaven by Allah, the Exalted:
(But, Allah raised him up towards Himself, and Allah is Dominant, Wise)
[Holy Quran, chapter: 4, Verse: 158]

Before the Last Day, Prophet Isa (Peace be upon him) will appear. About him, our Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) said, “By him is whose hand my soul is, surely Isa the son of Maryam will soon descend amongst you as a just ruler; he will break the cross, kill the swine, and waive the Jizyah…..”

Imam Muslim recorded in his book a very detailed statement of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) about him. According to it, Prophet Isa (Peace be upon him) will descend on the Minaret of the Mosque in Damascus. He will then chase Dajjal and kill him at a place named by Lud. After that he will lead Muslims to the mountain Toor, obeying the commandment of Allah, the Exalted.

After the gathering of Prophet Isa (Peace be upon him) and Muslims on the mountain Toor, Gog and Magog will emerge and drink up the whole water. People will run away from them in fear. Gog and Magog will point their arrows towards heaven. Those arrows will come down on them stained with blood. Later on, Allah, the Exalted, would create worms on the back of their necks, therefore they all will die.

When Gog and Magog would be killed, then Prophet Isa (Peace be upon him) will get down from the mountain Toor with all Muslims. However, they will not find on the earth equal to the space of a single span which was not filled with the putrefaction and stench of the corpses of Gog and Magog. On the supplications made by Muslims and Prophet Isa (Peace be upon him) Allah, the Exalted, would send birds having necks like those of Bactrian Camels and they will throw their corpses where Allah wills. Then Allah, The Exalted, will cause rain, which will wash the whole earth.

Later on, earth will be ordered by Allah, The Exalted, to bring forth its fruits and restore its blessings. There would grow a pomegranate so big that a group of people would be able to eat it, and seek shelter under its skin. A cow would give so much milk that a whole tribe would be able to drink it.

Prophet Isa will stay around for forty years. During this period, he will get married and he will be blessed with children too. Later on, after his normal death, he will be buried inside the tomb of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).

As we learned earlier, the Beast of the earth will come out of the forest in Mecca.

He is an animal having a head like an Ox, eyes like a Swine, ears like an Elephant, neck like an Ostrich, chest like a Lion, color like a Cheetah, waist like a cat, tail like a Sheep, and legs similar to the legs of a Camel.

About his way of work, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said in a very clear word, “Beast of the earth will appear, having a ring of Prophet Sulaiman (Peace be upon him) and a stick of Prophet Musa (Peace be upon him). He will brighten the face of Muslims using the stick and he will mark on the nose of non-believers with his ring. Therefore, when they will gather, one will point out as he is a Muslim or he is a non-believer”.
[Ibn-e-Maja: Imam Muhammad Bin Yazid , Vol: 3, Page: 473]

After the real death of Prophet Isa (Peace be upon him) when only forty years will be left for the Last Day, a pleasant wind will blow. It would cross under the armpits of people and take the life of every Muslim.

Now, only non-believers will be on the earth. There will be no birth of a new child. After forty years of it, when no one less than forty years old will exist, angel Israfeel (Peace be upon him), by the order of Allah, The Exalted, will blow the trumpet. On listening to the horrible voice of it every one of them will die and meet an end including angel Israfeel (Peace be upon him).

Indicating to this fact, Allah, the Exalted, says;
(Then, when the trumpet is blown instantly. And the earth and the mountains are being crushed after lifting up all at once. And the heavens would be destroyed and rolled up )
[Holy Quran, Chapter: 69, Verses: 13, 14]

(The Day when we shall roll up the heavens like the angels roll up their records)
[Holy Quran, Chapter: 21, Verse: 104]

In a very simple word, the Holy Quran reiterates that what is in the world would be destroyed completely exept Allah, The Exalted:
(All that is on earth is to perish. And will abide for ever the entity of your Lord, full of Majesty, Bounty, and Honor. )
